PITO Returns to Frankfurt: Showcasing Intangible Blue-and-White Heritage and Advancing Chaozhou—China’s Porcelain Capital—on the Global Stage

On February 6 (local time), Ambiente Frankfurt, one of the most influential trade fairs in the global consumer goods industry, officially opened in Frankfurt, Germany. Widely regarded as an industry barometer, the fair brings together leading brands and professional buyers from around the world.

As a representative enterprise of Chaozhou porcelain, PITO made its second appearance at this prestigious international event. Compared with its initial debut, PITO returned to Frankfurt with clearer market objectives and a more structured product portfolio. Exhibiting in the core area of the European Hall, the brand presented a new synthesis of intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship and contemporary design, allowing the millennium-old artistry of “China’s Porcelain Capital · Chaozhou” to resonate within a global context.

Live Demonstrations of Intangible Heritage Become a Cultural Highlight

Throughout the exhibition, the “China’s Porcelain Capital · Chaozhou” themed area attracted continuous attention from international buyers. More than a dozen premium Chaozhou ceramic collections were on display, accompanied by live demonstrations from Xu Wensen, Xu Jiayu, and Xu Jiaxi, young-generation inheritors of Chaozhou’s intangible blue-and-white porcelain heritage.

As cobalt pigments flowed naturally across pristine white porcelain surfaces, the artists completed each piece in a single firing, revealing the distinctive Eastern aesthetic of blue patterns emerging vividly from beneath white glaze. This direct and authentic presentation of craftsmanship drew many international visitors to stop, observe, and document the process, with some describing it as “one of the most compelling expressions of Chinese culture.”

Tradition Meets Contemporary Design: Multiple Product Lines Unveiled

Centered on the theme of heritage-driven innovation, PITO introduced several key product lines at Ambiente, achieving a comprehensive upgrade from craftsmanship expression to market relevance:

  • Intangible Heritage “Blue-and-White Fish & Algae” Collection
Created exclusively for this exhibition, the collection is rooted in Chaozhou kiln traditions spanning over a thousand years. Using locally sourced natural cobalt and medium-temperature firing, it presents layered blue-and-white tones. While preserving the warmth and elegance of Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain, the series integrates modern minimalist forms, allowing intangible heritage to naturally enter contemporary living spaces.
  • Fine Porcelain Tableware Collection
Featuring a high-whiteness porcelain base paired with arched relief borders, this collection balances classical aesthetics with enhanced functionality, making it suitable for both everyday household use and high-end dining environments.
  • Premium Bone China Collection
Developed through optimized traditional bone china body and firing techniques, the collection achieves a balance between lightness and strength—thin yet resilient. It redefines international perceptions of Chinese bone china and highlights technological breakthroughs in “Guangdong Intelligent Manufacturing.”
  • Exhibition Booth Design
The booth’s visual identity combines the imagery of traditional Chaozhou earthen walls with porcelain vessel silhouettes, framed within a seal-inspired structure. This design distills the dual essence of ceramic craftsmanship and Chaozhou cultural heritage, reinforcing the city’s status as a benchmark of porcelain excellence.

From Brand Display to Market Conversion

Unlike its previous participation, which focused primarily on brand exposure, PITO entered this year’s fair with a strategic emphasis on precise engagement and order conversion. After reviewing data from the previous edition, the company refined its objectives and initiated targeted outreach campaigns through email and social media ahead of the show, sharing product previews and inviting potential clients in advance.

“The first time was about introducing Chaozhou porcelain to the world; the second time is about encouraging the world to choose Chaozhou porcelain,” said PITO’s international sales manager. Competing alongside established European brands under its own brand name PITO, the company is actively advancing its transition from manufacturing export to brand and cultural export.

Inside the booth, digital screens continuously played documentary footage of Chaozhou porcelain-making—from clay extraction and forming to kiln firing—allowing international visitors to clearly understand the craftsmanship value embedded in every piece.

Platform Empowerment Supports Chaozhou Ceramics’ Global Expansion

As a key hub of the global consumer goods industry, Ambiente 2026 achieved full exhibition capacity, bringing together leading and emerging brands from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and beyond. Through intelligent business matchmaking and client management systems, the fair provided efficient and precise connection opportunities for exhibitors.

Leveraging this platform, PITO was able not only to engage directly with global market demand but also to gain real-time insights into evolving design trends and consumer preferences—helping chart a clearer path for the international development of Chaozhou ceramics.

Government–Enterprise Collaboration Strengthens the Global Journey

PITO’s successful participation was also supported by coordinated government initiatives. As part of the “Guangdong Products Go Global” program, relevant departments in Chaozhou integrated resources across industry, commerce, and trade sectors, offering systematic support in policy guidance, overseas platform connections, and intellectual property protection—effectively enhancing exhibition outcomes.

From its first appearance to continued strategic engagement, PITO’s Frankfurt journey reflects the broader global advancement of Chaozhou ceramics. When millennia-old blue-and-white heritage meets international design discourse, and when independent Chinese brands align with global market needs, the export of Chaozhou porcelain transcends product trade to become a comprehensive expression of cultural confidence and industrial strength.

Looking ahead, “China’s Porcelain Capital · Chaozhou” will continue to take heritage as its foundation and innovation as its driving force. Through close collaboration between government and enterprises, more Chaozhou ceramics carrying the spirit of Eastern aesthetics will enter living spaces around the world—allowing the global audience to truly appreciate the craftsmanship value and cultural depth of Chinese porcelain.
