Connecting Overseas Chinese Business via Cultural Heritage
On July 16, the “Overseas Chinese Empowering the Economy · Guangzhou Connecting the World” Business Exchange and Matchmaking Event, hosted by Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall and co-organized by PITO, was successfully held at the PITO hospitality tableware Division venue.
Leveraging the four core functions of Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall — cultural exchange, industrial collaboration, overseas Chinese resource integration, and innovation incubation — the event brought together overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, business leaders, and representatives from the hospitality and catering industries across the Greater Bay Area. Centered on culture and driven by industry collaboration, the gathering aimed to strengthen resource sharing between Guangzhou and Chaozhou, foster deeper cooperation among overseas Chinese businesses, and create new opportunities for mutual industrial growth.

The event began with a guided visit to the PITO Chaozhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Blue-and-White Porcelain Museum. Guests explored an impressive collection of handcrafted blue-and-white ceramic tableware masterpieces and original cultural creations that showcased the rich heritage and refined craftsmanship of Chaozhou ceramics. Through on-site presentations, participants gained deeper insights into PITO’s approach to industrializing intangible cultural heritage while discovering new possibilities for integrating cultural creativity, hospitality tableware, and overseas Chinese business resources.

A themed marketplace featuring food and hotel tableware was also organized during the event, bringing together premium tea brands, specialty food suppliers, and hospitality-related businesses from across the Greater Bay Area. Supported by Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall’s extensive global overseas Chinese business network, the marketplace created an efficient and relaxed environment for entrepreneurs and industry partners to exchange ideas, discuss supply chain collaboration, and explore future brand partnerships.

Food became another bridge for connection throughout the event. Guests enjoyed an East-meets-West dining experience featuring UNESCO-recognized Neapolitan handcrafted pizza alongside traditional roasted whole pig specialties. In this warm and engaging atmosphere, participants strengthened relationships, shared business insights, and further expanded long-term communication channels between overseas Chinese business communities in Guangzhou and Chaozhou.

A hands-on blue-and-white porcelain painting workshop added a memorable cultural experience to the program. By personally decorating porcelain tableware pieces, guests experienced the unique charm and vitality of Chaozhou’s intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship while gaining a deeper appreciation of its cultural and commercial value.

This event represents another meaningful step in PITO’s commitment to leveraging its heritage resources, connecting overseas Chinese business communities, and contributing to the development of the Greater Bay Area. Looking ahead, PITO will continue working closely with Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall to integrate intangible cultural heritage, hospitality dinnerware, and global overseas Chinese business networks, building an ongoing platform for cooperation and contributing to the high-quality development of the hospitality and catering industries throughout the Greater Bay Area.
