Connecting the World · Win-Win Cooperation | China–Africa Young Entrepreneurs Gather at Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall

April 14, 2026 — China and Africa entered a new chapter of collaboration as the China–Africa Young Entrepreneurs Cooperation and Exchange Conference was successfully held at the Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall in Haizhu District.

The event was jointly organized by the Youth Committee of the China–Africa Business Council, the Haizhu District Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, and the South African Young Entrepreneurs Association, and co-hosted by the Haizhu Overseas Partner Service Center and the Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall. Through direct, practical engagement, it aimed to build a solid bridge for economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchange, and mutual benefit between young entrepreneurs from China and Africa.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Wang Fujun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Haizhu District Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; Zeng Zhiyong, Executive Deputy Head of the United Front Work Department and Director of the District Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau; Li Chaocheng, Vice President of the China–Africa Business Council; and Imram Makama, President of the South African Young Entrepreneurs Association. Young entrepreneurs from South Africa, Nigeria, and Mauritius, African buyers attending the Canton Fair, and representatives from cross-border service institutions gathered to explore new cooperation opportunities.

During the event, keynote speeches, thematic presentations, and roundtable discussions were held, focusing on sectors including new energy, the automotive industry, cross-border trade, and compliance and risk management. Participants shared practical insights and explored concrete collaboration models. A strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was also held, marking the official establishment of a long-term cooperation mechanism among China–Africa young entrepreneurs.

In the discussions, distinctive industries such as ceramics and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) creative products attracted particular attention. Represented by PITO, leading local ceramic enterprises showcased strengths in Chaozhou blue-and-white porcelain, an intangible cultural heritage, along with state-banquet-level design capabilities and internationally oriented product systems. These elements serve as a high-quality medium for China–Africa cultural exchange and trade cooperation, helping bring traditional Chinese craftsmanship to African markets.

Looking ahead, the Haizhu Overseas Chinese Reception Hall will continue to leverage its platform advantages by regularly hosting international economic and trade exchange activities. By empowering youth-driven initiatives, it aims to contribute to a new chapter in building a China–Africa community with a shared future and to support the high-level opening-up of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
